I realized tonight that I had not posted pictures from our latest shopping trip. Looking at the pictures of these teen age boys who were so happy to just get a pair of shoes, it made me realize that I take a lot for granted. I have a supportive family; though not perfect they are still there when I need them. Most of the kids I work with have no family. No mother to say Happy Mother’s Day to. No father to teach them fatherly things. No grandmother to cook their favorite meal just because. So many of us take our family and friends for granted. Expecting and accepting this gift without thought or thanks except on designated days like today. So look around, take inventory and tell your family and friends “Happy Whatever Day” just because…..
