It seems I am always taking boys shopping and the girls get left out so today I made a conscious effort to take two girls shopping and left the boys behind. Now I know why I tend to take the boys shopping because most of them know what they want and they don’t worry if the shoe makes their foot look too big!! Really!!
The first store didn’t have a shoe in it that either girl wanted though it took at least 45 minutes for them to decide that. The second store had shoes they liked but for some reason Girl #1 who was wearing a size 8 couldn’t understand why she needed a size 10 because that made her foot look wayyyy too big. After explaining to her several times that a 10 is a 10 is a 10 and we can’t make a 10 any smaller just so her foot wouldn’t look like a size 10 she finally decided on a pair of all white tennis shoes which my shopping partner of a couple months ago (if you remember) would have quickly told her was a HUGE mistake unless you can talk Mrs. Rae into buying you two pairs of shoes which she could not because she did not possess the hustler skills my little 12 year old friend did. After Girl #1 finally resigned herself to having a size 10 foot Girl #2 decided that she would go down the same path and kept trying on shoes that she could not get 1/2 of her foot in much less her entire foot.
It was a sad day for both of the girls to realize that YES some girls do have big feet and no matter how much you want that pair of shoes in the kids section…… we all have to grow up sometime and put our big girl pants on i.e. size 10 shoes for Girl #2 also.
This is great. Love your account of the day. Sounds like a blast! Sure do love having boys. They will flop around in a too big shoe to be bigger 🙂
